“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” – (Hebrews 4: 14-16 ESV) For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. “Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. And so that we can push back the darkness, through prayer in the life of others. And God desires to restore us when we fail, so that we can enjoy our friendship with him. If you are a parent, ask yourself this question, do I still love my children when they fail? The answer is yes. I find that many believers live their lives feeling unloved by God, because of personal failures. To be effective in both, we have to believe that we are accepted by God and loved by him. We have been given these benefits for both worship and warfare. God has given us the Holy Spirit, the word of God, and access to his throne (prayer). This warfare is our present reality, whether we like it or not. We ask the Father to keep us from temptation and to deliver us from the evil one. In the Lord’s prayer, Jesus is giving us a heads up about the spiritual battle raging around us. “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” – (Matthew 6:13 NIV) We find deliverance from spiritual attacks from God in our times of prayer. Prayer itself is an act of spiritual warfare. Therefore when we pray in Jesus’ name, we are asking God to do for us and others, what can’t be done by human power. And to be overcomers, in this present evil age. Our redemption, by Christ, allows us to experience the love of God now. Sometimes we fail to realize that our salvation experience is much more than a ticket to heaven. If you are “in Christ” you have been spiritually seated with him in heavenly places. When we pray to the Father in Jesus’ name, we are approaching God based on a covenant relationship.

“ And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus” – (Ephesians 2:6 NIV) Satan masquerades as an angel of light, so we must beware of deception. It’s a dangerous thing to engage in spiritual activities apart from Jesus. The fact is, all world religions are not equal. “…for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” – (2 Corinthians 11 14 NASB) Jesus is Lord and Maker of everything, in both the material and spiritual worlds. We worship the unseen God who has revealed himself in the man Christ Jesus. God is Spirit and we worship him in spirit and truth. “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” – (John 4:24 ESV)Įvery time we pray we are engaging the unseen realm. Because alive or dead – we will be with the Lord. Prepping with food and water is never a bad idea – but spiritual preparation is the key to your survival. We should ask for wisdom, discernment, and guidance from the Holy Spirit every day. But, spending time meditating on Scripture and praying it back to him, is how we live life in the Spirit. The way to be prepared for the day of trouble is to spend time in fellowship with God. A Pandemic, civil unrest, and unforeseen catastrophes are part of life. The shelter (secret place) is a haven – it’s a dwelling place that we should learn to live in, daily.ĭuring this time of testing as a nation, we are coming to realize just how vulnerable we are.
